France A. Cordova

France Cordova was born in Paris, France. She then later on moved into the United States. France Cordova had eleven brothers and sisters. She was the oldest of them all. His father was Mexican, and her mother was Irish American. Her mother was a very bright woman. In fact she attended and graduated from Stanford University located in East Los Angeles. She also graduated Cum laude, with a bachelor’s degree in English.
Cordova became an expert at the Los Alamos National lab. She worked in the space astronomy and astrophysics group. The work she was accomplishing was outstanding.1979 until 1989 she served as the deputy group leader, and then she went to the department of Astronomy and astrophysics and Pennsylvania State University from 1989-1993.
During the years of 1993 – 1996 she made a huge accomplishment, France became the youngest person to become the NASA chief scientist. Not only did she become the youngest person to become the NASA chief scientist, she became the vice-chancellor at the University of California. Cordova also became the president of Purdue in the year of 2008.
France Cordova is now married to a guy name Christian J. Foster. She also has two wonderful children their names are Anne-Catherine and Stephen. Cordova was a nominated to the Stanford University Multicultural Alumni hall of fame. She even won NASA’s highest honor called the Distinguished Service Medal.
